News from GC

March has been an extremely busy month at the club both on and off the water and it’s been fun to get involved. On the water I’ve had the chance to get out on a rescue boat during the VX! Regatta, help bring boats in off the beach for the George Mac, as well as some particularly beautiful twilight races as daylight saving came to a close. Off the water the St Patrick’s Day event organised by the Social committee was again very popular.

On 25 March I had the pleasure of attending the end of season cocktail Party organised by Sailing Lifts Your Spirits at RBYC. Good food, good music and great company, celebrating the contribution that Leanne and Gordon have made supporting first responders.

It’s been great to see the number of club members getting involved and giving back to the community, making their boats available and putting their hands up to help out on the water or on land. The initiative has lifted the spirits of RBYC and generated at lot of activity with hundreds of people having the chance to sail for the first time as a result. We are very fortunate to have Sailing Lifts Your Spirits based at our club.

As Caprice heads north for the winter we wish them fair winds and a safe passage and look forward to their return later in the year
