Sailing Coordinator

The purpose of this position is to assist in the delivery of the RBYC on-water programs including keelboat, off the beach, recreational boating, regattas and associated events.

This is a hands on role within the Boating Department at Royal Brighton Yacht Club

This role involves:

Sailing program administration including online entry and results systems
Event administration – regatta, boating and non-sailing events
Volunteer coordination and support
Attendance at sub-committee meetings and minute taking
Key skills will include:

Excellent administration skills
Strong verbal and written communication
Computer skills and familiarity with web-based systems
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
First class customer service

Reporting directly to the Boating Manager, you will work in a team which includes club officials, staff and volunteers. You will be instrumental in the organisation and promotion of sailing and racing programs, delivering a busy year round schedule of sailing activities. Your regular work week will be flexible and will include weekend days.

Experience in similar roles within sailing or other sporting organisations would be an advantage.

Training/OTB Coordinator

The purpose of this position is to assist in the delivery of the RBYC Discovery Sailing Center training programs and the off the beach programs regattas and associated events.

This is a hands on role within the Boating Department at Royal Brighton Yacht Club

The role involves

Daily operation of the Discover Sailing Centre including the club’s Discover Sailing, powerboat, keelboat, and coaching programs.
Manage the Club Instructors and Coaches to maximise revenue, prioritising transition to club sailor and member satisfaction, ensuring the appropriate legal and Australian Sailing obligations are fulfilled.
Ensure all training vessels (Power and Sail) are maintained and kept in good working order.
Provide support to the club’s Sailing Coordinator  to ensure the physical resources required to support the Club’s OTB on water activities are able to be operated, compliant, and in good working order
Assist in an on-water capacity as a Race Management team member when required.
Assist with major regatta and events help at the club as required and requested by the Boating Manager
Assist in the publication of OTB Race Documents (Notice of Races, Sailing Instructions, online forms etc)
