Before joining Tackers 3 – Sailing Fast!, your child must complete Tackers 2 – Tricks & Techniques.
Tackers 3 helps young sailors build independence and confidence on the water. By the end of the course, participants will be able to apply their knowledge of essential sailing techniques to confidently sail a dinghy solo in moderate wind conditions on all points of sailing

Sailors Competencies
On the Water
- Sail a windward / leeward course
- Perform a 360 degree turn
- Always use my tiller extension like a microphone when I’m sailing
- Sail a ‘close hauled’ course without assistance
- Sail standing up in a straight line
- Identify gusts on the water
- Gybe without tipping over!
- Come alongside a stationary object and stop
Off the water
- Rig and derig my own boat
