Sailing Lifts Your Spirts

Sailing Lifts Your Spirits is in full swing on Thursday nights.  Our charity proactively supports the wellbeing of our First Responders and Frontline Healthcare workers through the provision of no-cost and ongoing sailing experiences designed to thank them for their service in protecting us all and offer a pathway to defend themselves against the cumulative stress of their work lives.

Last Thursday, the weather was perfect and we had our biggest Sailing Lifts Your Spirits event ever, with over 50 Guests on 8 yachts.  We headed out on a beam reach for an hour, dodged a couple of ships in the channel and then back to the club for a fantastic BBQ on the lower deck

Thank you to our wonderful team of volunteer boat owners, sailors and shore crew that made our Paramedics, Doctors, Nurses and Psychologists feel welcome and safe on board. A special thanks to the RBYC restaurant team that put on a special meal for everybody involved

With the support of 12 RBYC boat owners that volunteer their boats and their time and a big group of volunteer sailors and shore crew, we have over 550 Guest bookings for the season. We also have a wait list for every Thursday until the end of our season in March. If you are a boat owner available on any Thursday please get in contact.  If you might be short of crew, we have a pool of volunteer experienced sailors that can help out.  If you are an experienced sailor or someone who would like to help out on shore please contact us as well.  We can always use extra hands.

Each skipper gives a short safety briefing on board, then the fleet drop lines and head out for a comfortable 2 hour sail and then we all come back to the club for a meal and a short talk about wellbeing.

Our season finale event is on Saturday 25 March.  A Cocktail party in the Bayview room, live music, a cocktail on arrival and delicious canapes throughout the evening.  Put it in your diary, tickets at $129 ea from www.trybooking.com/cfsth
