Safety Declarations

The NOR states that the Safety Category for each race will be designated in the RBYC Sailing Program and that all boats shall lodge a Declaration of Compliance and Equipment Checklist prior to racing in any event.

Skippers must do a self-audit and send this to the sailing office via the Form/File Upload . Cat 1-3 will need an independent audit and you will need to arrange for an AS-qualified club auditor to come to your boat and do a formal audit in the presence of the skipper and ideally one crew.

Please use the below link for details on how to prepare for your audit. Please note that the Auditor will not undertake the audit if you are not prepared and you must have your self audit form with you. Remember the auditors are doing this in a volunteer capacity

Man Overboard (MOB)

Keelboat skippers are required to submit a MOB declaration that each regular crew member has taken part in MOB (Man Over Board) training or briefing, as part of their Safety Declaration.

Forms can be scanned and uploaded as part of the online entry process, lodged in person at the RBYC sailing office, or emailed to [email protected].
