Royal Brighton Yacht Club offers their Youth Members (up to 17) to participate in the Junior and Youth Development Squads. The Development Squad Training is run over school term 1, 2, 3 and 4 plus school holiday programs. Training session usual run 1 – 4pm. Term training and Annual fee include specified afterschool and Sunday training as per calendar
Other training/regatta options may be offered during the year TBA.
Coaching is run in Optimist, Quest, ILCA and 29ers.
Opti and Quest are then split into Green Fleet, Intermediate and Open Fleet skill level groups.
29er sailing will be split in to learn to Sail, Intermediate and Advanced skill level groups.
ILCA will be split into Intro, Intermediate and Advanced
Requirements
The Development Squads are for those sailors who have completed Tackers 3 or OutThere 3 (or have equivalent experience). The focus is on gaining skills for club racing and getting ready for regattas and events. RBYC membership
Completed enrolment form and payment of fees $115pa
Opti/420/ILCA Sailors are requested they have their own boat which can be stored at the club for a small fee. A club Opti/ 29er can be hired on request. Full Details
