As the Club will be holding its 30-year plus members lunch on the 3rd Friday in September (the 18th), the usual September Guest Speaker Dinner will not take place. In lieu, cruisers are invited to book themselves for an informal get together dinner in the Members Bar following the Friday draw at 7pm on September 18th. We have reserved to long table and large round table for Cruising Group, so please let Mandy know if you would like to book a seat at one of these tables.
On the weekend of October 10th/11th, a cruise has been organised to the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron at St Kilda. RMYS have offered to show us around their Club and facilities, and as they are a reciprocal Club, RBYC members will get a night’s berthage at no cost. Please let Jo Walker know if you plan to come along ([email protected]). Participating boats will need to complete a Casual Berthing Form prior to the event (https://rmys.com.au/marina/casual-marina-berths/ ). We appreciate the there is an RBYC Div “C” passage race on the Saturday (Sarawaki Cup), however, St Kilda is not far, and there should be plenty of time to get there after the race.
Guest Speaker Dinners will resume in October, when Grant and Delma Dunoon will tell us of their recent purchase and preparation of a canal boat and subsequent river and canal cruising in the UK and Europe.
