Frostbite Cruise
Our annual Frostbite Cruise to Docklands will take place on the first weekend in July (4th/5th) and has been scheduled to coincide with Melbourne’s Firelight Festival, also held at Docklands. Seven boats from RBYC have booked berths at Melbourne City Marina (MCM) – Blaise Pascal, Big Easy, Kirra Kirra, Reliance, Thunder, Solitaire and Why Knot. A pot-luck dinner is planned for Saturday evening in the marina lounge, so even if you haven’t booked your boat, you are welcome to car/train/bus/walk into the city and join us in the lounge to watch the firelight festival display in the company of fellow sailors. July Guest Speaker Dinner
Looking ahead, we are delighted to have Norm Boreham, president of the “Friends of Alma Doepel” organisation present to us on Friday, July 17th. Norm has a short presentation in which he will relate the history of the Alma, how the restoration is progressing, plans and next steps, leading up to taking the ship across Bass Strait to participate in the 2027 Hobart Wooden Boat Festival (5-8 Feb)
