A Legendary Moment in History
It was Tuesday morning at 7:21 AM when people across Australia watched in awe as Australia II crossed the finish line in the seventh and final race to win the America’s Cup.
In that unforgettable moment, we experienced countless memories:
- Thousands of boats raced toward Australia II to offer their congratulations.
- The joyous crew and team members aboard Australia II celebrated as they made their way to the dock.
- The anthem “I Come from a Land Down Under” resonated in the air.
And, of course, the spirited image of the Boxing Kangaroo. - Alan Bond, like a conductor leading an orchestra, raised his arms to direct attention to the iconic wing keel.
- Prime Minister Bob Hawke’s quote: “Any boss who sacks anyone for not turning up today is a bum!”
