Footy Tipping R 9

Hi everyone,

The games went pretty much according to the script this week and our tipping scores were very high.

On the field

Freo recorded their eighth straight victory with an impressive come-from-behind win over Hawthorn at Perth Stadium last Thursday night. The Hawks looked like they had the game under control, but were overrun by the Dockers in the last term. Freo 12.16.88 defeated Hawthorn 11.7.73. The Dockers are within one win of equalling their longest ever win streak of 9 consecutive victories, achieved in 2006 and 2015. There were two Friday night games: Brisbane built a 49-point lead over Carlton early in the third term, but the Blues played a strong second half. The final score saw Brisbane defeat Carlton 14.16.100 to 13.11.89. Port Adelaide hosted the Western Bulldogs but, for the second straight week, lost a thriller at the Adelaide Oval. The Bulldogs were desperate to end their four-game losing streak, led for most of the night, and held on to win by 2 points.

On Saturday, ladder leaders Sydney played North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium. This was a good, close game which saw the Swans emerge as narrow victors, 105-97. At Engie Stadium, Sydney, the GWS Giants recorded a hard-fought 16.7.103 to 13.11.89 win over the Bombers. The biggest surprise this weekend was the 9-goal victory margin that Geelong achieved in defeating Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday night. Eight unanswered goals either side of halftime set up the Cats’ win. The Gold Coast Suns kept their impressive record at TIO Stadium, Darwin, intact with a 13.11.89 to 8.12.60 victory over St Kilda.

On Sunday, the Melbourne Demons kept their spot in the top 8 with a comfortable 32-point win over West Coast at Marvel Stadium. In the final game, Adelaide moved up to 8th place on the ladder with a 37-point victory over Richmond at the MCG.
