Hello, Sail Captains and Sailing Administrators:
We will be conducting a weighing day on Sunday, 21st September 2025, from 9am at Sandringham Yacht Club for boats that wish to obtain or update their measurement ratings certificates – AMS, ORC and IRC. In keeping with our usual practice, this day will be conducted by volunteers for the benefit of boat owners on Port Phillip.
We have been weighing boats since 1998, and with the fantastic support of Sandringham Yacht Club and many volunteers, we plan on weighing six boats per hour. This provides the boat owners with a low-cost weighing service at a fraction of the cost incurred in other States.
The cost of the weighing will be $375 per boat.
We weigh all boats in “empty” configuration, and this means that the IRC and ORC weight is provided. The AMS weight is the empty weight plus the weight of the AMS permitted gear, which is weighed separately in a basket on the club crane.
