For our August Guest Speaker Dinner, we are pleased to have Alex and Boris Aver (of SV Grace) entertain us with tales from their recent sailing holiday in Croatia.
Join 2 brothers as they recount an unforgettable week sailing the spectacular Dalmatian Coast aboard a Beneteau Oceanis 40. From crystal-clear anchorages, medieval towns and hidden coves to generator failures, dinghy traffic jams, missed flights, lost luggage and a marathon passport queue in Frankfurt—this was a sailing adventure where the biggest storms happened after leaving the sea.
As usual, after gathering in the Members Bar for the weekly announcements and members’ draw at 7:00pm, please join us in the Bayview Room for the dinner and talk. Everyone is welcome, but please book now, as bookings are essential for catering purposes. In late August or early September, the Cruising Group is planning a weekend cruise away to a nearby Bay location. Stay tuned for more information.
The Club will be holding its 30-year plus members lunch on the 3rd Friday in September, so the usual September Guest Speaker Dinner will not take place. In lieu, cruisers are invited to book themselves for an informal dinner in the Members Bar following the Friday draw on September 18th.
Guest Speaker Dinners will resume in October, when Grant and Delma Dunoon will entertain us with stories regarding their recent purchase and preparation of a canal boat and subsequent river and canal cruising in the UK and Europe.
