Guest Speaker Dinners
Our next Guest Speaker Dinner will be on May 15th, when Dan Lyon (“Diver Dan”) will talk on his recent delivery voyage, taking Tai Tam from RBYC, Naarm to Opua, Aotearoa. The last leg of this delivery had Dan and crew sailing down the NE coast of New Zealand just as Cyclone Vaianu was bearing down on the North Island, so Dan will have some interesting experiences to relate!
On the third Friday in June, Brenton and Robina Smith will be entertaining us with tales of their recently completed six-week cruise of South Australian waters in Chakana (Friday June 19th). In this time, Brenton and Robina ranged far and wide, from Kangaroo Island to Whyalla, Adelaide to Port Lincoln, the Joseph Banks Island group, and on the way home, Portland and Port Fairy.
Weekend Cruises
A weekend cruise to Wyndham Harbour is planned for May 16th/17th (following Dan’s talk). Please contact Brenton Smith ([email protected]) if you are interested in participating
Our annual Frostbite Cruise to Docklands will take place on the first weekend in July (4th/5th) and has been scheduled to coincide with Melbourne’s Firelight Festival, held at Docklands. We have reserved 7 berths at Melbourne City Marina for RBYC boats for the night of July 4th, however each boat will need to separately book their berth directly with MCM (mention you are with the RBYC group).
