GC Report

As another summer sailing season nears its end, it was pleasing to see that keelboat participation remained consistent with last year, particularly on Wednesdays in the Twilight races. The season-ending Cerberus Trophy was raced last week with 14 boats participating. Participation in club-organised racing is constantly discussed in both Sailing and General committees. Several new ideas have recently been raised, and we will look to introduce them over the coming months and into the new sailing season.

In May, Marnie Irving, our Club Captain, will be hosting Skippers Forums for the OTB, One Design and Keelboat fleets. I would encourage all skippers and owners to attend, as it is an excellent opportunity to share feedback and help shape the racing format for the 24/25 season.

As the days grow shorter and the weather cooler, there is still plenty of sailing around the Club, with Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays for most classes.

Off the water, a lot is happening with construction beginning at the front of the club, a new breakfast menu launched last weekend, and we are making progress, albeit slowly, on finalising a new sea-bed lease and the dredging of the marina.

Have a great week ahead!
