Our annual OTB regatta , Sail Melbourne, is fast approaching. This is a major event in the RBYC calendar attracting over 130 boats from across Australian and the rest of the world. The event recruits the help of a number of other clubs on the bay with 4 courses running each day. With a large number of courses and boats it requires a team of over 100 volunteers over the 4 days. One of the major volunteer roles is that of beach marshals. This is a key role helping the competing sailors to launch and retrieve their boats. Its also one of the few opportunities to get up close and personal with some of the best sailors in the country. So we are calling out to our members to see who can help out. The beach Marshall shift are AM or PM or doing both.
Regatta Dates: 28th, 29th, 30th Nov and 1 Dec
Times:
AM Shift 10am – 12.30 pm PM Shift 2pm – 4pm (these times are approximate.)
Those doing both shifts will receive a light lunch
