Over 120 boats have entered this year’s event, all are off the Beach classes and are launched and retrieved each day from the RBYC beach. As you may imagine, this is a big task and there are a lot of boat trolleys on the beach that need to be pulled up onto the beach and stacked and then made available for the sailors as they come in from racing.
If you are not planning on sailing in the event and can spare a few hours then we are looking for volunteers to join the beach team to make sure this runs smoothly. We need a team of people for both the morning launch and the afternoon retrieval. It is a great way to meet the sailors and be involved in a major regatta. The role is physical, and you will need to be willing to get into the water (Knee-high)
You will be provided with a Regatta Polo and if you do both the morning and afternoon, we will also provide you with lunch.
The morning session will require you to be at the club at about 9.30 (each day we announce the next day’s start time bearing in mind the wind conditions). The afternoon session is from 2 pm.
