Frostbite Cruise
Our annual Frostbite Cruise to Docklands will take place on the first weekend in July (4th/5th) and has been scheduled to coincide with Melbourne’s Firelight Festival, also held at Docklands. We have tentatively reserved 7 berths at Melbourne City Marina (MCM) for RBYC boats for the night of July 4th; however, each boat will need to separately book their berth directly with MCM. To do so, call MCM on 03 9658 8738 and mention you are with the RBYC group, however, you should do this as soon as you can, as there is demand for berths on this weekend, and MCM will release these berths if RBYC does not take them up.
This is always a fun weekend, so come along and enjoy the festivities in the company of fellow sailors. Please let Jo Walker ([email protected]) know if you are planning to do so.
Guest Speaker Dinner
For ourJune Guest Speaker Dinner (Friday June 19th), RBYC Cruising Group stalwarts, Brenton and Robina Smith, and Craig Walton, will be entertaining us with tales of their cruise to South Australian waters in Chakana and Y-knot earlier this year. During their ten-week cruise Brenton and Robina ranged far and wide, from Kangaroo Island to Whyalla, Adelaide to Port Lincoln, the Sir Joseph Banks Group, and on the way home, Portland and Port Fairy. So come along and enjoy a convivial meal with sailing colleagues and hear about the attractions of a lesser visited cruising region.
As usual, after gathering in the Members Bar for the weekly announcements and members’ draw at 7:00pm, please join us in the Bayview Room for the dinner and talk. Everyone is welcome.
A reminder that bookings are essential for catering purposes. To book, please contact Reception on 9592 3092 or email [email protected] prior to the close of business on Wednesday June 17th. $40.00 per person is payable on the night, inclusive of a two-course dinner.
