Last Saturday we had 15 boats competing in the Cerberus race to Black Rock, followed by a barbecue on the hardstand with perfect weather conditions. It all changed for Sunday’s Bliss regatta, which had to be cancelled due to high winds and squally conditions – that’s sailing.
Congratulations to the crew of Serious Yahoo B9 for winning Port Phillip Women’s Championship on AMS and PHS, it’s a fantastic achievement.
As the Summer sailing season draws to a close, we look forward to winter at the club, both on and off the water.
Starting this Wednesday night we have the first of the Smart Sailing talks with Owen McMahon speaking on “Ten Fleet racing don’ts for One Design boats” starting at 6.00pm in the Members bar.
Then next Thursday the 14th of May we have a facilitated workshop to discuss the Master Plan in the members bar at 6.00pm and it would be fantastic to members attend to give their input as this is important to the future of our wonderful club.
Finally good luck to Chris Hampton sailing Tango representing RBYC in the upcoming Etchell Worlds in San Diego and Paul Pascoe as chair of the Jury, The event starts on Monday 11th of May.
