The 2026 Victorian Trailable Yachting Championship is at Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club this weekend and Mitch Bayliss says “it will be the fleet since the 90’s with over 42 boats competing. Congratulations to all those involved and to see that trailer sailors are growing in numbers. Click Here
Also, a couple more events this weekend worth highlighting are:
The Sayers & co Schnapper Point Regatta at Mornington YC, a long-running, vibrant sailing regatta rooted in junior and youth development, community participation, and club culture. It plays a key role in the Victorian sailing calendar, offering both competitive racing and a welcoming festival atmosphere on the shores of Port Phillip Bay. This year it also includes the Musto Skiff Australian National Championship and International B14 Victorian State Championship
Yachting Western Victoria Training Weekend at Lake Fyans This event Is supported by all the western regional sailing clubs and has grown in popularity over the year. AS will be in attendance sending an AS coach thanks to Vic Govt SRV Regional Western Victoria Grant. Click Here

Thank you to Ben Callard , AS Head of Community Support and Events for spending a few days this week with the Vic Team with our 2026 -2027 planning and implementation plans that will be beneficial and that we will share with Clubs.
Zhik YouthSail – ALL are welcome to participate in the Coaching Clinic and Regatta. Click Here. The Coaches at this event and other accredited coaches will also have an opportunity to attend a Coaching Development Day the day prior to the Coaching Clinic. Thanks to Mark Tonner-Joyce, a highly respected and experienced coach, David White (SSCBC) Grant Wilmot AS National Participation Officer and Amelia Catt, Australian Sailing VIC/TAS High Performance Coach the aim of the day is to lift the quality and consistency of coaching across Victoria, with practical outcomes that flow directly into youth camps and club programs. Thank you also to the Sail Our Way Participation Grant for also supporting this event.

SailLab : Invitation to the Victorian Launch– SailLab is a Free STEM Education Program from Australian Sailing that brings the science and innovation of sailing into schools. The launch is on 17 March 6.30pm at The Boatshed,- AS Vic office , 3 Aquatic Drive Albert Park, 6.30pm – 7.30pm. Developed by teachers, SailLAB offers Primary and Secondary modules covering wind, forces, design engineering, oceanography, and meteorology. Schools receive student workbooks, lesson plans, assessments, and hands-on challenges based on the STEM learning cycle. Importantly, SailLAB also includes on-water Experience Days delivered through local Discover Sailing Centres, connecting classroom learning directly with your club.
