Dear Members
I hope this message finds you well. I am looking forward to seeing our Wednesday and Saturday programs swing into full gear now that the summer holidays are over and we see our boats and crew return to the club. The weather has been a little inconsistent, let’s hope this changes as we move into February and Autumn.
Last week we we saw three RBYC yachts head into Bass Strait. Two yachts Chakana and Y-Knot have headed west and into South Australia. It’s A Privilege sailed through to Apollo Bay and onto King Island. We wish them well for their ongoing journeys!
At this time each year the Cruising Group usually venture as a group into Bass Strait. This year is a little different and we will stick to sailing in Port Phillip, and Corio Bay. An information night was held last Friday and it is not too late to join. Please contact Terry Frankham ([email protected]).
We continue to actively look for members, including power boat owners, to help volunteer by assisting in driving the support boats or helping manage races. This is a great way to practice and improve your boat handling skills and an opportunity to get up close to some excellent sail racing. Please get in touch with the Sailing Office if you are interested in helping.
I hope to see you out on the water, and have a great week ahead!
Peter Gebhardt
Vice Commodore
