Message from the Commodore

Dear Members and Staff

As we come to the end of a truly exceptional year, I am delighted to extend my warmest Christmas wishes to the entire Royal Brighton Yacht Club community. Celebrating our 150th year has been a wonderful reminder of the legacy we share recognising the generations of sailors, volunteers, supporters, and staff who have shaped the club we enjoy so much today. This milestone year has been filled with memorable moments that reflect not just our history, but the energy, enthusiasm, and your involvement that have defined the spirit and character of the club.

One of the highlights of the year was being named Victorian Yacht Club of the Year, an honour that recognises the hard work of our sailors, volunteers, staff, and the many other members who contribute to the strength and success of the club. We also hosted a series of outstanding regattas, welcoming local, national and international competitors to the shores of Port Phillip and showcasing Royal Brighton as a premier venue for world-class sailing. Our social and swimming events throughout the year added to the vibrancy of the club, giving members many wonderful occasions to come together as a club

As we enter the Christmas season, I hope it brings you enjoyment, relaxation, and time spent with those closest to you. To all who will be sailing over the break, whether racing, cruising, or simply embracing a summer afternoon on the bay, I wish you fair winds, following seas, and safe passage wherever you travel.

Wishing you Merry Christmas and a Safe and Prosperous New Year

Peter Demura
