There’s a lot going on at the club both on and off the water.
The sailing season is now in full swing with some beautiful sunny days and good breezes . The Twilight on Wednesday attracted a good fleet. Saturday was a beautiful day for the Peter Taylor trophy and one design fleets. Well done to the ILCAs, Optis and 29ers that participated in Sail Sandy. It was a pity the strong breezes prevented racing on the Sunday.
At RBYC planning is underway for Sail Melbourne being held over the last four days of November. It’s fun to be involved in such a big event. Lots of volunteers are required so please consider registering to help out for a day or two.
There is also a lot happening on shore as well. We’ve received a “Sail our way” grant to bring one of Australia’s professional female sailors to Brighton on November 20. Alice Parker is navigator on a 100 ft yacht in the upcoming Sydney to Hobart. Come along to hear her inspiring journey. While the event is free we need you to register for planning purposes.
