The 95th Stonehaven Cup Regatta was run at RMYS between the 7th – 11th Jan 2025.This is a youth regatta of 9 races sailed in RS Quests over 5 days. This year with 27 boats from 4 states & territories competing it is the largest fleet in many years and its is only growing.
RBYC entered eight crews this year who have have trained extensively over the last 12 months with attention to racing skills, decision making and team spirt.
Importantly we aim to foster the joys of sailing for all those who participate in our junior and youth training programs.
The Stonehaven Cup was awarded to the RBYC crew of – Oscar Waldron, Mark Gyimesi & Michael Simopoulos.
In second place was another RBYC team – Nathan Stanford, Oliver Martin & Edward Jukes.
And in third place, from RBYC – Jenson Oldham, Eddie Barron & Aiden O’Connell.
These successes means that the Otto A Meik Perpetual Teams Trophy 2025 was also won by RBYC.
RBYC will be the host club in 2026 and we are looking forward to fielding another great team of young sailors. Some of our current team will be aging out this year but we have many great new sailors coming through our every growing youth sailing programs.
