GC Report – Cath Hurley

This winter has been one of the coldest and calmest presenting challenges for sailors and swimmers at the club. Frustratingly there’s often been either not enough or too much wind.  This past weekend the ORCV race had to be abandoned, and the keen sailors at RBYC were disappointed on both days due to lack of wind. For the first time I’ve been swimming through winter with the Iceberger members enjoying the camaraderie and the invigorating buzz of cold water swimming.

But this month I’m heading north for the Queensland regattas with fellow club members as part of the Rampallion syndicate. It’s a great reminder of the variety of friendships and experiences open to us at the club. Whether you’re an aquatic member, a crew member, a senior member or a social member there’s always something for you at RBYC. The more you put into the club the more you get out of it. If you’re following our Olympic sailors there’s a big screen in the cafe and the TV in the bar where you can watch the replays.

I look forward to seeing you soon either in Queensland or back at the club.

Kind regards,

Cath
