Sailing Lifts Your Spirits has wrapped up another beautiful season here at RBYC!
On a positive note, we welcomed 253 incredible healthcare and emergency service workers out on the water to experience the joy of sailing. These communities give so much to others and it’s been an honour to give them a chance to relax, connect and enjoy the sea.
A huge THANK YOU to our amazing volunteer boat owners and experienced sailors & shore crew. Without your generosity, time and passion, this program simply wouldn’t be possible. You truly make a difference for our everyday superheroes.
Our biggest challenge this season was actually too much wind! 🌬️
With winds reaching 20 knots and above, we had to cancel 6 events. For many participants it’s their very first sailing experience, and those conditions can be overwhelming. We want their introduction to sailing to be enjoyable, safe and inspiring.
Despite the weather challenges, we’re incredibly proud of what we achieved this season and grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.
