In other cruising news, Rob Hurrell has been joined on Aquacadabra by RBYC members Robina & Brenton Smith and Brian Churchill for the next stage of the Sail2Indonesia Rally.  Replacing Tony Garvey and Dave Stripp who have now returned to Melboune, they have spent the last month cruising with the rally fleet from Labuan Bajo on Flores, Indonesia, to Bali.

This has included time at Komodo and Rinca Islands getting up close and personal with the Komodo Dragons before sailing west to Sumbawa, with great snorkelling at anchorages along the way. Off Jambu Village on Sumbawa they enjoyed the incredible experience of swimming with the whale sharks. Village, blacksmith and market tours were followed by buffalo races at Badas, with Brenton being one of two in the rally to give it a try. A muddy experience driving (trying to stay on!) two buffalo through a muddy field.

Sailing further west to Lombok, Brian joined other intrepid mountaineers on 3-day hike to the summit of Mt Rinjani while the rest of the crew sailed for Bali, to the new Gapura Marina where Aquacadabra became the first ever boat to tie up.

With Brenton and Robina heading home from Bali, Vice Commodore Peter Gebhardt will be flying in to join the Aquacadabra crew for the next stage of the rally.
