Last Wednesday the club hosted the D’Arenberg wine dinner. Chief wine maker and viticulturist Chester D’Arenberg Osborn regaled the sold out audience with stories about his family history, the creation of the famous D’Arenberg Cube, art, clothing design, jewellery, sculpture, science fiction writing, and of course the history of the wines being tasted.
It was a very enjoyable evening with a wide range of wines being paired with some amazing food. Six wines, six courses, and a magnum of Dead Arm Shiraz for a lucky winner drawn from the many wine order forms. Perhaps the food even upstaged the wine? It was a close call. Make sure you book early for the next wine dinner. It’s sure to be another sell out!
