Marina Dredging

Last year RBYC received a permit to conduct maintenance dredging of the marina. It appeared we would be unable to engage the preferred dredging contractor until the winter of 2026 due to their work schedule. However, the contractor’s plans have changed and there is now an opportunity to proceed over this coming winter. We are keen to take advantage of this and are actively progressing a work permit with Parks Victoria, as well as other pre-requisites. If we are successful in mobilising in time, dredging will be undertaken between late May and September 2025.
There will be an effort to minimise inconvenience to club members. However, it will be important that sailors and swimmers are aware of the dredging plans which may affect them for short periods. The dredging will be done in stages with a pipeline taking the dredged material to a designated area offshore. We will keep you informed along the way, understanding that timings are dependent on weather and other factors.
We thank you for your understanding over the period of this essential marina maintenance.

Kind Regards
