It is getting close to going now for the five RBYC members heading north to Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Pittwater. RBYC Members Alison Weatherly (3rd Place in the last Worlds) racing in the 303 fleet, Sean Hogan and Peter Coleman in the Liberty Fleet, Past Commodore Paul Pascoe on the International Jury and Results and Patrick Purcell as an on-water volunteer. With 182 entries it is obviously going to be a busy place on and off the water.
We RBYC members seem to be arriving at RPAYC on the 20th and 21st of March, measurement days are 23rd and 24th with racing from the 25th to 30th. these worlds are both open and inclusive. It is absolutely fantastic to be involved in such a huge event for Australia, and there will be a lot of different country flags flying, quite the spectacle.
On the water Alison will be the one to watch as she is an amazing sailor, Sean will also be right up in the top bunch be assured.
Past Commodore Paul will be hoping for very little action in the protest room but, we feel he will have a bit on over the series as there are some serious competitors racing. Patrick is going to be a very busy person with very long days on the water, he will sleep well every night for sure.
Hopefully we will keep you all posted each day.
