The next Cruising Group on-water event will be the 2025 Bass Strait Cruise in Company, whichis scheduled to depart RBYC for QCYC on Sat Feb 22nd and to return to Brighton by Monday March 10th, 2025 ( Where the fleet goes between those dates is in the lap of the weather gods). At this stage, it looks like three RBYC boats will be heading out the heads in company, along with two to three SYC boats. Other couple of RBYC boats may join the fleet for the trip down to QVYC. It is not too late to join in the group – please contact John Walker ([email protected]) if you are interested in participating or have any other queries. A pre-cruise dinner will be held in the Members Bar on Friday Feb 21st, immediately preceding departure. All Welcome.
In other news, Craig Walton and his crew of Steve Dickson and Aldy Felix have departed Stanley, and having passed through the Hunter passage, were sailing YKnot south down the West Coast of Tasmania, heading for Hobart via Macquarie Harbour and Bathurst Harbour. Craig intends cruising the D’Entrecasteaux Channel for a few weeks before returning to Melbourne. Meanwhile, It’s a Privilege (Peter Strain) is currently cruising Bass Strait, and at the time if writing, was in Lady Barron, Flinders Island.
Our 2025 Guest Speaker Dinner program will recommence on Friday March 21st, when Diver Dan will let us into the secrets below the water line.
