AFL week 18

Hi everyone,

On the field: Geelong defeated Collingwood on Friday night at the ‘G by 20 points in front of 73,000 fans. It was the ‘Pies third straight loss, while the Cats recorded their third consecutive win. On Saturday, Sydney ended their two-game losing streak with a 79-point thumping of North Melbourne. Hawthorn rallied strongly in the final term to defeat Freo in Launceston by 13 points. It was a gutsy win by the improving Hawks. Western Bulldogs defeated Carlton by 14 points on Saturday at Marvel Stadium. Despite the best efforts of the Blues’ Patrick Cripps, the Doggies won because they wanted it more! Adelaide defeated St Kilda by 32 points at the Adelaide Oval, while Melbourne surprised Essendon on Saturday night, beating the Bombers by 17 points at the MCG.

On Sunday, the Gold Coast Suns defeated Port Adelaide by 14 points, while GWS had a four-goal victory over Richmond. In the final game, the Brisbane Lions were made to work hard by the West Coast Eagles in Perth. The Lions came away with the four points after a 106 to 93 win.
