New From GC 24/10

Hello fellow members.
Being a couple of weeks into our new season and we are just waiting for the weather for a complete weekend to play ball, sadly there is nothing we can do about that. Fortunately, Saturday turned out to be a good sailing day.
This week Wednesday Hearns Heroes and Wednesday twilight racing had wonderful sailing conditions, maybe it is time we all participated in the Wednesdays as well.
Several sailors off Reverie and Another Chapter are halfway through the Middle Sea Ocean Race from Malta sailing on the Volvo 70 Green Dragon, by the time this goes in the newsletter they will be finished I expect and celebrating an adventure of a lifetime for them.
The return influx of our winter intrepid voyagers are slowly getting back home with Sagred arriving last week and Caprice arriving home of Saturday, several more on the their way.
Heading north has currently got Cyan Moon halfway up the coast and RUSH doing their final preparations before heading north for both boats to do another Sydney to Hobart Race. Safe trips and good luck.
There are several RBYC yachts doing the Melb – Devonport and Melb to Hobart Races coming up some keep your eye on them if you are not participating yourselves.
There is always a lot happening at the club some please try and find the time to see what is going on both on and off the water, the Thursday night OTB sailing seems to going form strength to strength remember it is not just for ILCA’s, it is for all the OTB’s – join in when you can.
See you at the club.
