News from GC – Peter Coleman

Hello fellow members.
One of the best things about heading to Europe for world and National Championships for 6 weeks is coming home to our club. I am sure most people feel the same way, as it is plain hard work, pretty sure I will never need my passport again.
I was very fortunate to travel with Mark Seager for the bulk of the adventure who was amazing. I do not believe I could have done it without him both his friendship and organizational skills…..thank you Mark.
I also had the pleasure of getting to know Sean Hogan in both Finland and the Netherlands as both a competitor in Finland and team guru in the Netherlands.
Alison (Ali) Weatherly was also a huge help in Finland and again proved to be one of the greats in our sport with brilliant result in the World Sailing Championships in the Netherlands with a fantastic BRONZE MEDAL finish representing Australia, what a great sailor and person. hats off to you three.
Again, travelling overseas it is funny who you bump into. Here we were minding our own business in Helsinki and next minute we had the great Brian Pattinson (Gusto fame) with us for a week before he continues his travels. Brian is wonderful man to be with, certainly knows how to have fun.
On the Aussie front I expect a lot of our RBYC boats will be heading south now or at least soon. we all hope you had a great time “up north” and hope you all have a safe and enjoyable trip home. be sure to watch marine tracker to see where they all are on their adventures back to the marina.
As always looking forward to seeing you all enjoying the club like I do.

The RBYC family
