2023 Winter Classic Swim
Sunday proved to be another spirited Iceberger morning that demonstrated commitment to our heritage of cold water swimming and our recognition of the importance of camaraderie. The results are attached, but they are secondary to the enjoyment we all had of being together in the winter waters of Port Phillip Bay and sharing coffees in front of a roaring fire in our members lounge afterwards.
The trophies went to Lucas Tucker (John Locco Golden Mile), Ian Serpless(Pier Cup) and our first female winner of the coveted Red Lantern, Lisa Gulikers. And note to Andrew Buchanan, if you care to buy a Triangle trophy we can award it to you in retrospect… remember, your old man carried off the Red Lantern in 2008.
We enjoyed bringing this wonderful event together and send special thanks to the invigilators, hot drinks providers, on-water safety crew and fire captains:
