The Australian 12ft Cadet Dinghy has a long and proud history and was sailed by some of Australia’s best sailors including American Cup skippers James Hardy and Jock Sturrock.
I would like to give a special plug for the upcoming Australian 12ft Cadet Dinghy Open Australian Championships and Centenary Reunion Function that will be held at RBYC between 3rd and 7th Jan 2024.
I had the privilege of sailing 12ft Cadet’s in my youth at RBYC as did my brothers Brien and Jack and both my lads Matt and Joe. The lifelong friendships that have been established and endured through this class is truly amazing and a testament to the sport of sailing’s ability to foster lifelong relationships within an activity based community.
