Cruising News 25/3

Our thanks to “Diver Dan” Lyon for a fascinating look at Brighton Below the Sea at our March Guest Speaker Dinner last Friday evening. An excellent crowd turned out and I think most of us were quite surprised to see the richness of marine life that Dan encounters as he goes about his work in the marina.

For our April Guest Speaker Dinner, we are pleased to bring you Greg Clinnick, who will present his account of last years Sydney to Hobart race in which he skippered the RBYC yacht Another Chapter to a 3rd place in their division. Hear about their 15 month journey to get to the start line and then successfully complete the race which experienced gale force winds, fatalities, man over boards, dis-mastings and 30% of the fleet retiring. The presentation will conclude with specific learnings for all sailors, whether they be cruisers or racers. So another one not to be missed!

Note that this Guest Speaker Dinner will be held on Friday 11th April, a week earlier than the usual 3rd Friday of the month (which this April will be Easter Good Friday).

As usual, bookings are essential for catering purposes. To book, please contact Reception on 9592 3092 or email [email protected] prior to the close of business on Wednesday April 9th.   $40.00 per person is payable on the night, inclusive of a two-course dinner.
