Etchells Worlds 2025

The Etchells Worlds was so much fun to be involved in, and there are so many people to thank. The overwhelming feedback from competitors was that it was an extremely well-run event, with many competitors commenting on the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone involved, including staff and club members. The reputation of the club as a centre of excellence for running international events has been once again enhanced by everyone’s contribution to the event, from the registration group, measurement, hardstand team, on water crew and the jury. Thanks to Peter Strain who made It’s a Privilege available to sit at the top mark each day and welcomed a host of visitors and spectators, as well as John Walker on Kirra Kira and Jim Leckey on Oobleck, who also took out spectators. Thanks all to the RBYC staff for your excellent service to competitors, the wonderful closing dinner and for making everyone feel at home.

We encourage you to have a look at the coverage by Nic Douglass including all the daily videos on the Etchells Facebook site and the Sail World articles. Here is a Video featuring the volunteers
