Annual Frostbite Regatta

On Sunday the frosty conditions suited the event perfectly – the annual Frostbite regatta, with the General Committee of RBYC trying to win the “muddy water” trophy back from RMYS, who hosted the competition this year. All that was missing was wind. The junior teams competed also, to show the seniors how it is done. Nonetheless we managed to get two races in for juniors as well as for seniors. You can see from the photos that the seniors felt the cold far more than the juniors! We couldn’t regain the trophy but will host the regatta next year and try again. It was a wonderful enjoyable day. Thanks especially to the young sailors and their parents for making the effort on such a cold Sunday morning – their participation made the event very special. Thanks also to Training Coordinator Craig Cobbin for his support.
