GUEST SPEAKER DINNERS:

Last Friday evening, Robina and Brenton Smith, Sue and Rob Hurrell, Barbara Burns, and Geoff Brewster entertained us at the February Guest Speaker Dinner with an in-depth view of New Caledonia and Vanuatu from the Cruisers’ perspective. Most of the audience would have left feeling somewhat envious, and we give our thanks to the speakers.

Friday March 15th, 2024 In the winter of 2023, Past Commodore Peter Strain and his son Richard cruised It’s a Privilege out on the Great Barrier Reef, visiting 25 reefs and 15 islands, from Lady Elliot Island in the south to just beyond Townsville and Magnetic Island in the north. An unforgettable experience of sailing, diving and fishing in Australia’s greatest marine environment. Peter has created a short movie that he will be showing to relate their experiences 

As usual, bookings are essential for catering purposes. To book, please contact Reception on 9592 3092 or email [email protected] prior to the close of business on Wednesday March 13th.   $40.00 per person is payable on the night, inclusive of a two course dinner.

Saturday April 20th, 2024
A number of Cruisers have booked on the Blues Train from Queenscliff on the evening of Saturday the 20th April, with some sailing down to Queenscliff ahead of the event. Because of this, there will not be the usual 3rd Friday Dinner in April. If you would like to come along on the Blues train on the 20th, please book directly on the website (www.thebluestrain.com.au). Those already booked will be in Carriage “D”

2024 BASS STRAIT CRUISE in Company:

The 2024 annual Bass Strait Cruise in Company will head off this coming weekend, with participants gathering at QCYC on Saturday the 24th, for a BBQ and to discuss the forecast and destination options.  We wish all participants fair winds and sunny skies.
