RBYC hosted its first regatta of the season being the WAZSP Slalom regatta over the weekend. A fleet of 19 boats came from as far afield as NSW to compete . The two day event consisted of 6 qualifying races on day one and 4 on day two. Then the top ten boats from this were put into the finals. The conditions on Saturday were challenging from both wind and sea state and many sailors spent some time in the water. Sunday was a bit calmer and the fleet managed to get all racing in and back at the club by 2.30. A special shout out to the volunteers that made this a successful event and the Race Office Peter Osbourne for running a smooth event.
