The Royal Brighton Yacht Club is supporting the growth of women’s sailing
Access to suitable sailing clothing remains a key barrier, affecting safety, confidence and enjoyment on the water.
Members are encouraged to donate quality, serviceable items such as jackets, pants, boots, gloves and thermal layers. Other major Clubs on Port Phillip have been invited to participate in this initiative.
Donated gear will be included in a silent auction, with all proceeds supporting the KISS Women’s Training Program.
Items can be left at the Boating Office during office hours. Please DO NOT leave outside.

Postcard from San Diego, Etchells Worlds 2026
The first two races were sailed today in very light difficult conditions with 76 boats on the start line and results all over the place – anything could happen from here!
Paul Pascoe is there as Chief Judge and sent through these photos from measurement and the Opening Ceremony. Those measurement photos will bring back memories for the many volunteers who helped out with the 2025 Etchells Worlds at RBYC.

National Volunteer Week 18-24 May 2026
Our club couldn’t survive without our volunteers, both on and off the water. From our General Committee, sub-committees, race management volunteers and working groups, we are grateful for all their hard work, which isn’t always easy! Nonetheless, volunteering is ultimately satisfying for those who do it and very much appreciated by those who don’t have the time.
Next week is National Volunteer Week. Take the time to thank one of our many volunteers for the terrific job they do – a simple expression of thanks goes a long way..
Another Chapter is going to Sleep at the G Thursday 14th
To raise money for homeless youths. There are nearly 8000 young people out there every night. no bed, no toilet, no running water, no TV, no kitchen, no where to wash apart from public toilets which are often locked. They are vulnerable and easy prey, often having left traumatic circumstances to find themselves in even more dire straits. Sleeping on a boat can't be as hard as Sleeping at the G.
