RBYC host AOST/AODS Over the weekend of 17-19 April, Royal Brighton Yacht Club played host to 26 optimist sailors and their coaches from around Australia. The sailors who make up the Australian Optimist Sailing Team and preparing to compete in the Optimist World Championship and the European and Asian Continental Championships and the Development Squads were participating in their annual training. At the same time they were getting a feel for the Club and surrounding waters ahead of the 2027 Australian Optimist Championships to be held at RBYC from 2-9 January 2027. It is great to see 2 RBYC youth members in the AODS team (Samual Smith and Theo Altson) and we wish them and all the sailors the best.

Seriously successful It was a slow but successful race for Serious Yahoo in very light airs for the Jennifer Goldsmith race at RMYS in the Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series last Sunday, coming first on AMS and second on PHS. About half the fleet didn’t finish. Looking forward to the final of the series, BLiSS at RBYC on May 3.

Bliss Regatta at Royal Brighton Yacht Club is shaping up to be one of the standout events on the calendar.
Designed for competitive racing and great on-water experiences, the main fleet will be doing windward/leeward courses, but we also offer a more relaxed race in the non spinnaker division for those not so competitive. Whether you're chasing silverware or simply keen to line up against a strong fleet, this ladies sailing event is not to miss.
With entries now open, we encourage all sailors to get involved and be part of a fantastic weekend of racing and camaraderie.

Hi everyone, We had 5 close games this week and one very concerning mental health issue on the field during the Blues vs Magpies game. In the close finishes, Carlton lost another game (88-83) to the old enemy, Collingwood, in all too familiar fashion. The Blues led by 3 goals at the final change, but the Maggies quickly erased the …
