Use your imagination to interpret this year's theme. No excuses - the props are already available at home, on your boat or in your friendships. All welcome - whether you are a sailor or not.

Opening Day is a long-standing tradition, with a morning ceremony followed by a “Sail Past” and a social get together afterwards. Click on the poster to register.

The Race Management team had its challenges over the weekend with Saturday bringing shifty light winds - a beautiful winter's day on Port Phillip. Well done to the team who valiantly tried to keep up with frequent course changes.

Congratulations to Caledonia, TL2 (Etchells) and Whitewash (2.4) on their first place results.

It was good of Steve Fahey's Cartouche to pose with Neil Patterson's 2.4 Digger to promote the 30th Anniversary 2.4m Class Australian Championships. This event will be held at RBYC from the 22nd to 25th January 2027.

Hunter Bryant: From Brighton to Beijing Waters

Please join us as Optimist youth sailor Hunter Bryant shares insights from his recent international racing campaign in Qingdao, China, through the 2026 VIODA Exchange Programme. With back‑to‑back podiums in the 2025 and 2026 RBYC Kings Cup Optimist Regatta, Hunter will reflect on his standout season. His journey also honours the legacy of his late grandfather, Andrew Plympton AM "The Admiral", whose leadership as the longest‑serving President of Australian Sailing guided Australia’s Olympic sailing success, including the glittering 2008 podiums at the same venue Hunter will be competing.

Last week we announced that Past Commodore and International Judge Paul Pascoe is a finalist for Official of the Year.

This week we can add that Neil Patterson has been shorted listed for Para Sailor of the Year. We'll be there to show our support for these worthy candidates.
