However, fortune favours the brave and when staff arrived at 6:00 am Thursday to set up, the future was looking decidedly brighter. Within hours the yard was sparkling and gorgeous, ready to …

Why did my Pursuit Start time change?

Pursuit start times are not a fixed number and they can change from week to week even if you haven’t sailed for a few weeks. The first concept to understand is that your pursuit start time is not your “handicap”. The system uses your Performance Handicap number AND the estimated time for the race in calculating start times for the …

OTB News

Sunday OTB held 3 races for a fleet of 15 Lasers and 6 Quests. Paul Pascoe and the race management team delivered their usual professional performance adjusting courses to the shifting breeze without missing a beat!
The Laser fleet enjoyed close racing in the building sea breeze with Owen McMahon and Matt Blakey emerging victorious overall in the ILCA6 and ILCA7s respectively.
The junior fleet had a blast in the club Quests as the wind built to a solid 20 knots. RBYC OTB coaches did an awesome job helping the young sailors navigate their boats around the race course under reefed mains. A few capsizes and a lot of beaming smiles. No doubt a memorable experience for our future sailing champs.
Thursday night OTB sailing provided another 4 tight sprint races followed by dinner and refreshments. A real mid week treat!

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Sail Melbourne this year is running 30th November - 3rd December 23. If you are not sailing in this regatta and you have a boat in the yard we will need you to take it off site no latter tha 22nd November. This is to allow for the visiting boats. We appreciate your cooperation .
