Opening Day 2023 - 7th October

Put the 7th of October in your diary and come and celebrate the opening of the new season with fellow members. The theme is Back to the 80's so find your shoulder pads, bright clothing and leg warmers and enjoy the day. There will be a mid morning ceremony on the lawn followed by the Sail Past and then a casual race (for those that want to). Then it's back to the club for the food and fun on the lower deck. Full details of the day will follow.

The week in review

Despite the cold weather sailing continues (well for those that have not fleed north for the sun). Wednesday was race 5 of the Hearnes Heros 6 series with 4 boats braving the cold, Leopard taking out the win. The weekend was busy with both Keelboats and One Design racing. Keelboats had the Blizzard Series race 6 with Caledonia taking out 1st place. One designs had week 2 of their winter series. Etchells Winner - Mens Shirts Shorts Skirts , 2.4 Winner - Digger , VXOne Winner - MiMi. Sunday saw the Frostbite Regatta which RMYS won this year (see article below)

2023-2024 Season Calendar

The new season calendar has now been published on the website. When you open the calendar page you will see a calendar that is set to all events. If you want to only see events of a particular fleet then use the drop down feature. There is a calendar for Keelboats, Etchells, VXOnes, Dragons, 2.4mR, OTB and Cruising. Generic events such as Public Hols, Opening Day, AGM etc are on the All Calendars option. There is also a downloadable calendar for each fleet for the season.

Race Management Volunteer Information Session 21st September 6.30 pm

We are inviting all members to join the Race Management Volunteers information session. The evening will discuss the upcoming season and what we have planned. It is also a great way to find out more about the group and how to get involved. Meet current Race Management Volunteers and see the different roles we have. Remember you don't need any prior experience as full training will be provided.

Hi everyone,

On the field: on Friday night, the Brisbane Lions recorded a 4 goal victory over ladder leaders Collingwood at Marvel Stadium. The Maggies have lost three of their last four games but still appear likely to be minor premiers this year. On Saturday, Richmond had a 29 point win over North Melbourne, while St Kilda surprised Geelong with a 33 point victory over the defending premiers at Marvel.
