Just having returned from the Club after sailing in the first race of the season, it was wonderful to see members and visiting sailors participating in a large number of events. There was something for everyone with keelboats, Etchells, Dragons, 2.4s VxOnes, and WASZPs racing on a number of different courses on a frustrating day characterised by large wind shifts …

Attention Keelboat skippers - SailPass
We all understand the benefits of attracting new crew members to the club. Are you happy to take one or two novice crew for twilight or Saturday racing? Twilight racing in particular is a great opportunity to showcase the benefits of crewing on a keelboat – the pleasure of the racing itself and the camaraderie afterwards.
|
Contact the sailing office if you are happy to welcome novice crew onto your boat. Your reward will be the smiles of people enjoying themselves on the day and a greater pool of experienced crew into the future.
|
Thanks, Niesje (Commodore)

Have you won a World Championship as an RBYC member?
As part of completing our documented history, we would like to compile a list of all RBYC members who have been part of a World Championship winning crew. There is an honour board in the hallway upstairs in the club listing some of the famous names who have done well overseas, but we know it isn’t complete.
|
If you have sailed on a winning boat in a world championship and were an RBYC member at the time (or know anyone who else who has) can you please provide the following details to Commodore Niesje Hees at [email protected]
|
- Name and year of Championship
- Name of boat
- Your position on the boat
- Name of skipper and other crew if available
