Start times for Keelboat twilight races are published at 4.30 pm. Boats not already entered but want to race MUST sign on or enter before 4.30pm so we can properly calculate start times for the fleet. Sign on after 4.30pm and you will be allocated an arbitrary time for that race. Please get in early.

Cruising News

Aquacadabra brings Indonesia to RBYC
Last Friday night was a busy one at the club with the members bar and restaurant full and the Cruising Group dinner in the Bayview Room. The crew of Aquacadabra entertained the room with tales of their four months cruising in Indonesia accompanied by gorgeous photos and videos. Now we all want to go there. In the meantime, over the weekend the Cruising Group left to go cruising.

Port Lincoln Race Week – Well done JAHMU!
JAHMU begins the long road journey back to RBYC following a successful Port Lincoln Race week (1st ORC, 3rd AMS and 4th PHS). There are some terrific photos on the Facebook Page.
RBYC Boats off to King Island
While the club hosts the Optis over the long weekend, two RBYC boats will be off to King Island for the ORCV’s annual King Island Race. All the best to B1 Blue Water Tracks (Grant Dunoon) and B120 Under Capricorn (Bruno Careto). Here is a link to find out more about the race and how to follow the yachts.

RBYC put on a dominant display at the Victorian ILCA Masters State Championship
At Mordialloc Yacht Club last weekend 17 RBYC sailors competed in a highly competitive fleet of 40 sailors in a 5 race series. VIODA Optimist Victorian State Championship
Over the long weekend of 7-9 March, RBYC is excited to be hosting this event and the club will be welcoming a lot of visiting boats.
With over 80 boats expected, storage space is limited so the undercover carpark will be closed from 6pm on the 6th - 8am on the 9th.
We are still looking for volunteers to help out on and off the water. Please contact the sailing office.

Regattas near and far
RBYC’s one design fleets have several regattas to look forward to.

Victorian Women Keelboat Sailors “Balance the Scales” for IWD 2026
Victorian women keelboat sailors are getting onboard building momentum for the annual International Women’s Day’s celebration on 8 March. With 7 female focussed events over the first 15 days of March, jump onboard, meet more like-minded women and explore the opportunities.
Leading off, join us at SYC on Monday 2 March.for "Pathways to Balance the Scales" a collaborative and interactive event with ORCV KISS ALIVE, SYC Women's Development Program and RMYS AWKR. 2026 Women’s Sportsboat Regatta at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron on 21-22 March!

Set against the stunning backdrop of southern Port Phillip, this high-energy event features two days of fast-paced, windward-leeward racing with 12-minute target times—keeping the action tight and competitive.
Sail your own J/70 or use one of the five club-supplied boats. Teams of four or five are encouraged, and with back-to-back races, there’s always another chance to climb the leaderboard.
After Saturday’s racing, unwind with a meal and inspiring guest speakers in our Southern Waters Room (included in your entry). The series wraps up Sunday with a deckside presentation celebrating all competitors.
