Office/Marina News

Waterproof FOBs

As of Monday 16th February access to the rear hallway door will be by fob only.
Waterproof fob wristbands will be available from reception from 9.00am Thursday 12th February 2026.
Members are welcome to swap their current fob for a wristband or purchase an additional one for $33.
The additional wristband will not access the carpark or marinas.
All car parks will be closed on Monday 16th February for line marking
All vehicles must vacate the car park Sunday night.

Marina Gate Access

The Marina gate has been repaired and entry and exit is now back to using all FOB readers. Entry is either pedestrian or vehicle. Please ensure non RBYC members do not follow you in. Key access to the pedestrian gate is also still available.

Start times for Keelboat twilight races are published at 4.30 pm. Boats not already entered but want to race MUST sign on or enter before 4.30pm so we can properly calculate start times for the fleet. Sign on after 4.30pm and you will be allocated an arbitrary time for that race. Please get in early.

Well done to the RBYC ILCA Sailors
RBYC sailors did very well at the 2026 Australian Masters Championships (6-9 February 2026 at Bay Sailing Centre Soldiers Point, Port Stephens NSW). There were 15 RBYC Sailors competing; Michael O’Brien, Robert Jeffreys, Tony McPhail, Ian Tudball, Owen McMann, Stuart Wallace, Stuart Bloom, Damon Cook, Nick Ede, Andrew Crawshaw, Mark Deacon, Jason King, Adam Deacon, Chris Drake and Steve Gunther. Special congratulations to those who achieved podium positions; Owen McMahon was 3rd in his fleet (Masters and Grand Masters), and 2nd Grand Master, and Michael O’Brien was 2nd in his fleet (Apprentices, Great Grand Masters and Legends) and 1st Great Grand Master. Tarakona wins Dragon States

Hugh Howard from Metung Yacht Club has won the Dragon Vic States after four races in lively conditions with RBYC crew John McCarl and Andrew Merrett. Charlie Stanton presented the crew with the J.J. Savage trophy which was first awarded to Kamilla (A.S. Sturrock) in 1953.

Etchells NSW States last weekend and Vic States coming up

Well done to Tango 1466 (Chris Hampton) on their 5th placing in the Etchells NSW State Titles held at Gosford. Event coverage includes some terrific articles and drone footage.
We look forward to the Vic States at RBYC in a month’s time (13-15 March) with many crews keen to get some practice in ahead of the 2026 Worlds in San Diego.
