GC Report - Peter Gebhardt

Dear Members, Looking back at the last few General Committee weekly updates, we have been reminded that the cold weather is really upon us; however, it is pleasing to see that many events are still happening around the club, both on and off the water. We have a fantastic speaker scheduled for next month's Guest Speaker Dinner, which will be held on …

Sailing at the Olympics

To follow the Olympic Sailing, check out the Australian sailing webpage and for results the World Sailing webpage.
You’ll see the club TVs focussed on channel 9’s Olympic coverage and the two boxing kangaroo flags at the beachside of the club.
Remember that in 1983 the boxing kangaroo served as the symbol for the successful Australian challenge for the Americas Cup, where the flag was flown from Australia II. The image was later bought by the Australian Olympic Committee. The best of luck to the Australian Olympic Team over the next two weeks!

New RBYC Honour Board

Some time ago I asked for RBYC members who have been part of a World Championship crew to make themselves known. Some of you were identified and we created an online Honour Board. We now plan to create a wooden Honour Board. There is already a historical Honour Board entitled “International Events” which is full. The new Honour Board will supplement this.
If you aren’t already identified on the online Honour Board, and you were part of a World Championship crew while a member of RBYC, please let us know.
