Cruising News

After a successful, if cold and damp, Frostbite Cruise to Docklands by seven RBYC boats over the June 29/30th weekend, we can now look forward to the second half of the year and the accompanying ever lengthening days. With the Club’s Presentation Night being held on Friday June 12th, there will not be a “3rd Friday” Guest Speaker Dinner in July. However, for those who wish to get together on Friday 19th, book a seat for dinner at the club following the members’ draw on that evening. In August, our guest speaker for the August 16th dinner will be Cheyne O’Brien from the BOM. Cheyne is a marine specialist with the bureau, with a background in operational marine forecasting, and will present on forecasting and the science behind it, with an emphasis on the Port Phillip area. In September, we are looking to bring you a talk on chartering in the Greek Islands, while in October, we will hold the annual Progressive Dinner
